Fact Compactor

The purpose of a trash compactor is to take a large volume of material and condense it into a tight, tidy package that's easy to handle. Fact Compactor uses the same principle: It packs a maximum amount of knowledge into a minimal amount of space in order to present a package that's easy for readers to grasp. Each 1,250-word issue outlines the basic facts of the subject at hand, then packs in related facts, presenting interesting information in a readable in-paper serial feature. It captures the imagination, encourages curiosity, and keeps readers coming back for more. By condensing information, we expand the reader's mind.

Fact Compactor is geared towards kids who are already reading: grades 5 and above. It also has wide appeal among all ages, and lends itself well to advertising sponsorships. It's a perfect vehicle for NIE programs. It invites the readers (kids and their parents) into the paper by providing an adventure in education. It teaches students that newspapers offer more than just news, with startling stories, surprising science, and hidden history. Fact Compactor content can easily translate into classroom curriculum - all the facts have been authenticated and are true!

Fact Compactor is packaged in sets and series. Topic categories include Science, Great Disasters, Insects and Food. Fact Compactor is a half-page feature with text and graphics, available on CD or by e-mail
